I have never done this before, is it really frowned upon?

Work-related stress?

Sadly in my workplace it would damage your reputation forever.

If it’s genuine then why treat it any different to any other illness that prevents you from working?
It would be more than ‘frowned upon’ if it was just an excuse to be off work though

I don’t feel safe in work.

I am leaving. But I am constantly scared due to a bully. One of my colleagues is already off with wrs. He has had things lied about and he is only able to disprove them because he wasn’t actually in when it happened.

I had a day off last month and got an email demanding to know when I’d be back and saying I was putting pressure on everybody else.

Is the bully your boss?
Have you considered raising a grievance against the bully?
Remember you can self certify for a week if needs be
