If your dp (who clearly adored you) and was a bit of a cheeky chappy kissed another woman on the hand in greeting her? She’s attractive and 15 years younger than him, this is first time they had met

Why would he do that?

AnneLovesGilbert · 08/07/2018 20:29

Is that his usual form of greeting people?

If not it’s very cringe. Someone did it to me a couple of months ago and it was awkward as arse.

MoveOnTheCards · 08/07/2018 20:30

I’d think it was a bit creepy.

Hidillyho · 08/07/2018 20:30

This is my DP!

I would probably take it as the joke it was meant

Silhouetta · 08/07/2018 20:30

He was tipsy, they shook hands (it was a pub type situation) and then he kissed her hand saying the hand shaking was too formal. He would normally check kiss to greet but couldn’t lean over

I find all the cheek kissing in England weird enough...hand kissing...cringe...

ShirleyPhallus · 08/07/2018 21:21

You’re the same OP with the tipsy flirting post - having a case of beer fear OP?!

Hassled · 08/07/2018 21:23

The only thing I wouldn't like about that scenario is the fact that men who do the hand-kissing thing are usually dicks.

Llanali · 08/07/2018 21:30

So he would normally check kiss, couldn’t reach, si hand kissed?

Fine. I wouldn’t think twice. I don’t like hand kissing but I wouldn’t be thinking anything untoward.

MoveOnTheCards · 08/07/2018 21:54

Isn’t cheek kissing a bit much when meeting someone for the first time though? Subsequent meetings I get, but i’d still find it a bit over-familiar for the first ever hello.

SharronNeedles · 08/07/2018 21:56

I like a cheek kiss, I always give them and get them when meeting people. hand kisses I'm not so fond of as I don't like stuff on my hands

Racecardriver · 08/07/2018 21:57

I think it depends on how old he is. Pretty common for men I know over sixty to still hand kiss. Don't know anyone younger than that who does it though, younger men all cheek kiss.

LanguidLobster · 08/07/2018 21:57

Depends on how he behaved after that

Bluelady · 08/07/2018 21:59

If mine did it I'd laugh and tell him what a silly sod he is.

notsolittlegrebe · 08/07/2018 21:59

I would find it weird and would tell him (in private) that I didn't like it.

I wouldn't dwell in it too much though.

DesignStatement · 08/07/2018 22:01

No different to a mock bow. Old fashioned courtesies I imagine he was mimicking as a joke. No big deal.

PurpleRobe · 08/07/2018 22:10

Weird. He should have "punched it in" instead.
I used to hand kiss men as a joke (usually when tipsy!)

trojanpony · 08/07/2018 22:35

I would be Shock

Silhouetta · 08/07/2018 22:35

What do you mean “punched it in”?
