Birthday holiday alone?

So - My Birthday is next month, and I don't have any family near me who would be around for it.
My partner will be on call all month so there is no guarantee that his boss won't ring him to work away over the time that my birthday is. This could be up to 8 days away!
So AIBU to book myself a holiday alone for a couple nights?!
DP seems to think that it's weird I want to plan to go somewhere alone and I should wait to see what he is doing before I plan anything (!!?) just in case he is home.
I just want a bit of sunshine and he has been on 3 stag dos this year (one the weekend after my birthday too) all abroad, and a holiday with his family which I will go on too..
Opinions...?!
Beats staying home alone on my birthday in my eyes?!

I would if you would enjoy it. I love going on holiday on my own.

That sounds fantastic to my ears - go for it.

I’d become all Michael Palin for a few days in a straw hat drinking wine and thoughtfully recording a diary (or at least have one artfully arranged on the table Grin)

Go! Or go to a fun friend for a night and then away on your own. Imagine if you take his advice, stay and then he gets called to work. You’d be really annoyed!

Thank you all! That is exactly what I shall do- looking for a short break away now! GrinGrin
