awkward mums night out

Hi there

Would like some opinions as I think I overanalyse and probably made a mountain out of a molehill!

We had a mums night out recently, but I felt like a few of the mums were quite cold to me. Not all of them said hi, hello (I was one of the early ones to arrive). When we sat down for drinks I sat with some of the mums I don't really know too well and again not much converstion felt quite hard to have a chat! I don't know if it's me and I'm just not sociable enough in these situations but I do try.

One of the mums even mentioned that you were like a baby in the corner... what does that imply?

It can be awkward socialising with people you don’t know very well, and if you’re a natural introvert that makes it worse. Well done for going!
That was very rude of that woman to say you were like a baby in the corner! I imagine she thought you were rather quiet, but she was a cheeky mare to say that!
Unless of course she thought you look like Jennifer Grey, then it was a compliment 😉
