Taking a tv camping

Is it unreasonable to take a tv camping as it’s the World Cup/ Wimbledon?

We will have an electric pitch and we have a relatively small tv and aerial to take but is it still utterly bonkers? Personally don’t care about the sport but OH does....

Yeah, why not. Drink wine and read while DH watches sport...

NotARegularPenguin · 06/07/2018 22:04

It’s fine.

Sounds fun.

We were camping last week and loads of the older guests had TVs. I expect for these events even more will.

theymademejoin · 06/07/2018 22:06

So long as it's inside and not on loud enough to disturb others. I think one of the points of camping is to get away from things so you would be unreasonable to inflict it on others.

Bearyinlove · 06/07/2018 22:15

Glad to hear it’s not entirely off the wall!

Will just have to hope the children don’t realise it can be used for watching things other than sport!

TV is fine. We are camping now and lots of people had the England match on. Was quite nice hearing the cheers go round different parts of the campsite. Unfortunately we were streaming and there must have been around a 1minute delay so knew the result before seeing it on the screen.

Wolfiefan · 06/07/2018 22:45

Depends. Loud and shouting at the football? No.
Quietly indoors? Your own business.

averythinline · 06/07/2018 22:50

has long as you have headphones! its different watching a movie on a tablet with headphones.. I dont want to listen to other peoples tvs when I'm camping ... why cant he go to a pub/cafe if its just a match ? its going to be on lots of places....
or stream via a tablet ...using wifi/phone hotspot..

or listen on the radio...

BogstandardBelle · 06/07/2018 23:15

God yes, all the camper vans have them.

We’re in a tent so no tv but we do take the Nespresso machine. DH suggested that we also take the waffle machine this year, and offer fresh coffee and waffles to other campers, and make back the cost of our trip ;-))

Do it.
Gone are the days when camping meant being uncomfortable and eating shit food.
