Oh is postman in a busy London suburb, so not little village where everyone knows everyone.

Obviously his regulars know him, but one guy often leaves him out a cold drink (in communal part of flats) but since the hot weather his left a can of cold drink everyday for him. He times it as well as it's always ice cold.

How nice is that!

That's really nice of them. Kindness is trait that's fast disappearing. Our postie has taken to doing his rounds before 10 am. And he always brings treats for the dogs Grin

OH is actually in love with a car on his round, with owners permission he sends me photos! It is the most beautiful cat ever!

That’s so nice. I don’t think kindness is disappearing though. I see many kind acts since my mum has altzimers from complete strangers allowing her to chat to their children to helping my dad when she fainted.

Most people are kind.

Seasawride · 06/07/2018 12:43

Right I am going to offer my lovely postie a drink now. Thanks op great thread. Smile

I wish there was much more kindness in the world. I work with a lady I try to be kind to everyday, she is unfortunately spiteful and bitchy though so it is a struggle. She was complaining recently that she never wins anything and good things never happen to her. I wonder if it’s related?

Brendatheblender · 06/07/2018 12:46

I love kindness!

I had a horrible incident on Wednesday night and so many kind people helped me out, especially two police officers who were absolutely amazing. They also told me that they went through a McDonald’s drive through the other day and the car in front paid for their order as a thank you for all the work they do which I thought was lovely.

Nquartz · 06/07/2018 12:48

That is lovely to hear. I rarely see our post lady but if I did I'd offer her a drink in this weather!

Needsmorebeans · 06/07/2018 12:49

i think it can be difficult to realise that most ppl are kind. i have a broken wrist and was struggling with my one good arm to get a shopping trolley. Lady behind me asked me to hurry up.as she had a taxi waiting. Feeling a bit deflated, I was walking home and a stranger stopped me, asked me how I was and wished me a speedy recovery. really cheered me up.

jobjobjob · 06/07/2018 12:59

@Seasawride that's nice!

I agree most people are kind, but people only seem to like talking about unkindness.

@Weddingplanningandlovingit I know it's not easy, but life's too short to work with people like that.

What a lovely positive thread- first time out today in a wheelchair for my six year old ds (rather nasty spiral fracture of tibia on sunday) and we have hired a wheelchair- he's wanting to 'drive' it himself and the amount of people who were encouraging him to do it himself, holding doors, telling him to take as long as he needs and reassuring him was lovely. I kept trying to push him so we weren't in anybodys way but nobody treated him like he was. Was lovely!

jobjobjob · 06/07/2018 13:25

@Ancientmummyofwooooos your poor DS, how frightening! Will it all heal?

That is a lovely thing to do for your OH.

Hope those on the thread who are on the mend all get better soon.
