Why would that need an AIBU?

Of course you fucking aren't.

No, it's a normal 'disgust' response (same sort of thing can occur with vomit) - probably an evolved protective reflex.

You need to make sure the bin lid is properly closed so flies can't get in, and probably avoid putting any waste in which flies may have had access to to lay eggs in. Maggots don't generate spontaneously.

Why would reaching at maggots be unreasonable? Are you worried your response hurt their feelings?

NewYearNewMe18 · 06/07/2018 13:53

ponders<

Fishermen hold them in their mouths.

Hospitals uses them for wound cleaning.

So yes, possibly an over reaction, it's nothing wrapping your waste food appropriately in newspaper won't cure and bleaching out your bin. Make sure the lid is properly shut.

It'll be the smell of rot rather than the maggots themselves which caused the retch, probably.

No, you should have cried out in jubilation at the sight of them.

What even is this for an AIBU.

YABU. You were meant to clap your hands together in delight and say "Maggots? Oh, how simply marvellous"! I think I'll take a deep sniff and closer look! Hmm
