To panic about flight

MadCatLadyofMaroc · 06/07/2018 04:12

Just gone to print off boarding passes. I am listed as Miss.

I have flown once before with this airline, am definitely listed as Mrs. This booking was made in husband's name, so drop down menu fault, from us.

Panicking. Too late to call, early check-in.

Is it a huge deal? Should I be panicking? Can it be rectified?

Is your passport up to date with your current legal name? If so, no worries.

Weedsnseeds1 · 06/07/2018 04:17

If name and surname match passport the title shouldn't matter
No titles in passport

Candyflip · 06/07/2018 04:18

Titles are just a courtesy, you can call yourself whatever you want. They are only worried about your actual name

flybabyfly · 06/07/2018 04:20

I don’t think it will be a problem. Do you have a title listed on your passport? If not, I can’t see that the airline would care. Even if you do, my understanding is that airlines only mind about your actual name being correct on the booking - in some countries, people don’t even use titles at all and they fly fine nonetheless.

MadCatLadyofMaroc · 06/07/2018 04:22

All names match. As do dates on passports. Flying from East Midlands to Belfast. Purely the title is wrong.

Miss not Mrs. Can only find info on wrong surname or change of name in their website.

Hoping so am worrying over nothing!

Titles don't matter as PP said - only correct spelling of name and surname. I call myself ms, mrs and dr so I can't keep up even.
Have a good flight!

Bullieseverywhere · 06/07/2018 04:37

Don’t worry about it. As long as your actual name is correct, it doesn’t matter one bit. I once flew as Mr 😂 (not my error).

eurochick · 06/07/2018 05:17

It's fined someone at work keeps booking flights for me as Miss. I have used Miss in about 25 years. It's annoying but doesn't make any practical difference.

eurochick · 06/07/2018 05:17

That should read "it's fine."

LastGirlsFinishNice · 06/07/2018 05:21

I booked flights for myself and a friend and mispelt her name. All the other info tallied up (passport number, DOB etc) and it wasn't even noticed. I wouldn't worry about it at all TBH, some people change their title depending on the situation anyway.

MadCatLadyofMaroc · 06/07/2018 05:25

Thanks all. Was panicking.

I’ve flown as Mr also! Someone at DH’s company put Mr instead of Dr. It didn’t matter at all.

MardAsSnails · 06/07/2018 05:33

Work always book my flights as Mr. no matter what I do, I’m always Mr.

Nobody gives a shit.

I also managed to fly with my name spelt wrong last week - I was on a group booking so hadn’t seen any booking confirmations and it was only when I got to the hotel after the flight, applying for a visa etc that I realized my boarding pass was spelt wrong. Was also fine on the way back - not even a question asked. I realize this would be an issue in most places, especially Europe, but Middle East to Central Asia and nobody gave a Damn

MadCatLadyofMaroc · 06/07/2018 05:53

Many thanks for all the replies. I fly 3 or 4 times a year to Morocco and even a tiny error results in an inquisition, hence my panic. It's the 1st (And only) time I have not booked my own tickets. If questioned, I will admit to being a Miss, publically, purely cos the only time DH booked he's trying to hint.....haha. squirm much?

Don't panic. We check in at the airport and last year dd (8) was listed as Mrs. Much to her amusement. 😂

Weedsnseeds1 · 07/07/2018 20:13

Presumably you have arrived OK by now but Midlands to Belfast you don't actually need a passport even, photo ID e.g. driving license is fine.

19lottie82 · 07/07/2018 20:14

Your title isn’t listed in your passport so no need to worry.

AlphaBravo · 08/07/2018 00:15

I'd be more concerned about being a 'miss' in Morrocco and what hotel you are staying in. Some dont let you share a room with your partner if you dont have the same surname/listed as miss. Some hotels are very strict.
