To think that Asda need to provide matching knickers for all their brad

So frustrating! I found such a pretty t shirt bra in my size for only £7 but yet again there were no matching bottoms! Some bras come with a choice of matching thong, hi briefs or sometimes shorts but why not all?
Plus I don’t get the sale where they have tankini tops reduced but again the bottoms are missing. This has happened in New Look too. Gorgeous Kelly Brooke bikini tops for a fiver but pointless as no bottoms 😞

YABU. Live life on the edge and mix and match!

tigercub50 · 05/07/2018 22:34

Bras obviously not brad!

Hisnamesblaine · 05/07/2018 22:40

I have thought this for ages OP!

NapQueen · 05/07/2018 22:43

I dont own a single matching set. I buy bras as and when I can find them in my size (30e are rarer than hens teeth), and then I buy giant pants in whatever patterns and colours catch my eye.

Life is too short to match bra and pants.

HappyStripper · 05/07/2018 22:46

I honestly don’t understand matching bras and pants that aren’t fancy lingerie for special occasions. Can’t imagine matching my underwear every morning and having to make sure the laundry is done in a perfect order to have matching pairs.

Iceweasel · 05/07/2018 22:47

I don't see why they should match?

QueenOfThorns · 05/07/2018 22:51

Just buy everything in plain black like me. Then it all matches - problem solved!

(To answer the question about why it has to match, I think it has something to do with being run over by a bus, and what the doctors would think. Or so I was told!)

ToadOfSadness · 05/07/2018 22:58

No, it has to be clean for being run over by a bus, doesn't matter if it matches, although when that saying began I think most underwear was only available in white.

I used to buy matching sets, either I have changed shape a great deal or they no longer make anything to fit my backside because not only do I have the same problem with Asda and non matching but I also struggle to get knickers that actually cover my bum cheeks. have tried sizing up but only have to take a couple of steps on the stairs and they are where I don't want them.

UrgentScurryfunge · 05/07/2018 23:30

I have the wrong body shape for matching underwear. Apparently women with small breasts couldn't possibly want matching pants big enough to contain two whole buttocks and a CS overhang Hmm

stevie69 · 05/07/2018 23:42

I fell your pain, OP. All, absolutely ALL of my lingerie matches. At last count, I had around 60 sets.

I absolutely will not mix. It has to be perfectly coordinated. Why I'm like this, I have no idea; the rest of me looks like a right scruffbag Shock.

Waterlemon · 05/07/2018 23:42

I match my underwear to the clothes I’m wearing - not to each other.
I tend to wear light coloured tops and dark coloured bottoms, so my bras tend to be lighter and knickers darker.

I also prefer cotton knickers to horrid man-made fabrics but they are near-impossible to find, I’ve never found cotton knickers to match a bra anywhere!

gekiort · 05/07/2018 23:43

Matching ASDA underwear Confused

Sorry but really? It's as basic pants and bras as it gets.

LiquoricePickle · 06/07/2018 05:48

Gekiort... What's wrong with you that you need to pull that face?

Why shouldn't she want matching basic underwear? If it's so basic then why can't they have basic matching colours?

Personally, I suspect that the tankini issue is because the bottoms have been damaged /lost/stolen, so they sell off the tops.

speakout · 06/07/2018 05:50

Do they need to match?

Most days my socks don't even match.

blibblibs · 06/07/2018 05:57

Your socks don't match Shock
Not only do both of mine have to match each other they also have to match something else I'm wearing!
Undies on the other hand, as long as they are clean they are good to go

MoonsAndJunes · 06/07/2018 06:03

People buy one tankini/bra and 2/3 pairs of matching bottoms/knickers. Hence lots of tankinis/ bras left in stock with nothing left in stock to match.

speakout · 06/07/2018 06:09

blibblibs Strictly speaking OH and I share our socks.Mostly blackish, some grey, some with a pattern on the side, all different lengths. None are paired after washing, so it's a case of grabbing two clean socks and wearing them.

Betsy86 · 06/07/2018 06:30

I buy all my bras in asda they are really good for the price!
I know what you mean op itis annoyjng not having the knickers and even the ones that have matching knickers rarely have any left in stock.
I rarely bother to attempt to match daily but when buying the bra if the full set was there I would buy it anyway. There £7 ones never have matching bottoms but they are pretty, so having the matching set would probably sell really well so it is a shame xx

VickieCherry · 06/07/2018 06:33

I haven't matched in years - I rarely find a bra that fits well with matching knickers I like. Much prefer comfy to matching!

Monty27 · 06/07/2018 06:35

It's not tailored. Who has the perfect figure? Size whatever boobs and size whatever hips?
They rarely match.
Especially with bra fittings. I am truly lost what size I am Smile

shakeyourcaboose · 06/07/2018 06:35

@speakout us too!! On a rare day one of us actually gets may pair is cause for celebration!

speakout · 06/07/2018 06:37

shakeyourcaboose - yes that's exactly like our house. It;s a running joke.

TwoBlueShoes · 06/07/2018 06:39

I do the all in black thing.

I work with young kids so I actually just wear a sports bra to work as there is a lot of running around and jumping, etc. I'm a 36G so I hate bouncing around.

I wear big black pants.

I'm super sexy, me.

I do hear your pain though, but I suspect mix and match looks fine too.

Marmite27 · 06/07/2018 06:41

I think they end up with loads of bikini tops left in the sales because of people like me. I always buy two pairs of bottoms to each top.

I don’t like washing everyday on holiday, but I do like clean knickers. Saves bringing 10 full bikins, if I can bring 5 full bikinis and 5 extra matching bottoms.

I don’t care if my knickers match my bra though.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 06/07/2018 06:48

I bought my first bikini in years after losing weight this year and it nearly brought me to tears of frustration! I don’t mind having to search the website, but why don’t the stores link to the different matching parts or allow you to filter results for tops if they don’t have your size bottoms in stock????!!! Even the big stores like Debenhams, or specific swimwear sites don’t have this feature. Stores were useless as I’m a 10 bottom, 32d top which are virtually sold out in everything.

Online, TU clothing eventually was the place I managed to find a nice one, and even then I had to trawl through, add everything in multiple sizes to my basket, then choose what I actually wanted. It took hours. So many times by the time I got to checkout, they had sold out of one or other piece.

I don’t really wear matching underwear as I only wear black so everything goes!
