Geesh AIBU to think that there are so many acronyms on here like CF, DH etc (ignore that one) we really need an easy access glossary one here! What's your best/worst?

Erm...there is one

TrudeauGirl · 05/07/2018 14:05

Took me a while to figure out "TTC and DSD" Also STBXH was one that somebody used once and it confused me. (Soon to be ex husband I think it was)

MissionItsPossible · 05/07/2018 14:05

You literally just click on the arrow next to 'talk' and the Acronyms are there.

TrudeauGirl · 05/07/2018 14:06

There is a list on the site which I now use

heatwave2018 · 05/07/2018 14:08

Trud what are those acronyms and where is this arrow on the app?

Sorry OP didn't know you were using an app. I tried to copy and paste them for you but it looks too messy.

ErictheGuineaPig · 05/07/2018 14:10

Mostly it just makes it easier and quicker to type. The one that I totally don't get is Ddog. I mean, why?? It's longer than just writing dog and looks like a stutter. It's really daft

heatwave2018 · 05/07/2018 14:10

Mission thank you! I don’t care if it's messy I'm used to html, css and all that jazz! Go for it!

I though CF was cunty fucker and STBXH was stupid bastard ex husband Grin

Shitonthebloodything · 05/07/2018 14:19

Ddog, dcat etc really irritate me. More than they should. I've no idea why anyone needs the 'D' anyway.

TrudeauGirl · 05/07/2018 14:19

Trud what are those acronyms and where is this arrow on the app?

Trying to conceive and dear step daughter. :-) I'm not sure where on the app but I think someone has just linked it. I'm slow on threads today sorry

I got stung by a Dwasp today though.

HairDyedPink · 05/07/2018 14:28

I think they sound ridiculous and are very confusing, you don't know if people are talking about friends or father, boss or brother.

Some posters love mocking the so-called "huns" from netmums Hmm but are happy to talk about their "dear daughter". Grin How lazy can you be if you can't type a few more letters.

BigCarrot · 05/07/2018 14:39

They only irritate me if someone is telling an epic story and there's hundreds of them, and they start throwing their own in or putting another meaning to existing ones! Then it gets stupid

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 05/07/2018 14:45

Gets VERY confusing when people talk about their DD being on her DS*, and when the DPs^ come over.
Under those circs I think a few extra letters would definitely help!
And if you're going to use DS for sisters as well, then DSis would work better.

  • referring to the Nintendo DS ^ DPs meaning parents rather than partners
heatwave2018 · 05/07/2018 14:59

STXBH stupid twat ex bastard husband?
