AIBU to teach my children to bake?

I'm sitting here with a plate of strawberry scones (I had some strawberries that were going off, so in they went) with clotted cream and jam and there's about 6 more in an airtight box for tomorrow.

This came about because I got the children a scone in an otherwise fab cafe yesterday and it was appalling, so I promised to teach them to bake PROPER scones today.

So much for low carbing this week.... and low-clotted-cream/strawberry jamming.... and low-buttery-baked-goodsing...

YANBU It's so disappointing when cafe cake is not as nice as what you can make at home!

DS and I end up making a lot of banana 'healthy' cupcakes as I always buy too many bananas.

Freeze the scones and save for guests

I love baking with my son, he loves making a mess everywhere cutting the shapes out and then stuffing his face with the end results. We haven't baked in a while because of trying to be healthy, your strawberry scones sound lovely!
