To ask for foods that still contain sugars

I'm not a fan of sweetners. They taste horrible to me and I'd rather have lemonade with sugar less often than sweetened empty stuff.
It's getting hard to identify what doesn't contain sweetners now. So can you recommend the drinks especially (but other foods too) that don't contain sweetners to help me make that choice?
So I know Fevertree- even the light versions- work for tonic water and its great I can get that most places but can't find a common lemonade around for summer drinks! I want to sit in the sunshine and drink fruity cocktails!

I think someone said the Waitrose lemonade is sweetner free

icelolly99 · 04/07/2018 12:51

I agree; not happy that places like Subway and Harvester have changed to sugar free; not by personal choice, just completely removed from menu! Like you OP I'd rather have a bit of normal sugar than fake sugars!

No artificial sweeteners at all or just not sugar free?

Ketayuzu · 04/07/2018 13:02

No artificial sweetners. I don't need sugars I just don't want sweetners.

You're right- i should have asked for foods that don't contain sweetners but I thought that would just open it up to people saying "water"

Yanbu. I hate sweeteners too.

MyRelationshipIsWeird · 04/07/2018 13:37

I agree, I hate sweeteners and usually just drink water or soda water at a restaurant but when I do want a nice drink I want one with proper sugar, not the weird bitter aftertaste of artificial sweeteners.

I do sometimes make my own lemonade with lemons sugar and fizzy water. Could you try maybe a local jam/preserve maker? There’s a lady near me on Facebook who sells chutney, jam etc and also makes her own cordials.

Of you want squash Sainsbury's do high juice orange, blackcurrant and I think apple and mango without artificial sweeteners. They also do them with AS though, so be careful!

Belvoir and other premium cordials are often only fruit concentrate, sugar and antioxidant (and they're delicious). You could make them up with sparkling water to get your mixer.
