to be really upset that Marie Stopes has stopped doing smears etc

I've geen going there for my yearly smears (& the occasional well women check) for 35 odd years. just phoned to be told that they don't do them anymore and from what i could gather, they (near on) only do terminations (& at a guess contraception). not surprised tbh for various reasons but i am so upset. I've relied on the place for literally decades, it was a fantastic place to go for female help. Anyone know of a good women's clinic in london? thanks

That's a shame - presumably it's because of funding cuts? Is your GP surgery a place where you'd feel comfortable having it done? The nurses at mine are fantastic.

i don't like having it done at my gps for varying reasons. i'll just have to find somewhere else. i had to pay at MS but it was worth it and always really put my mind at rest, all very mumsy there (got seen by a dr). i've had problems in the past with my cervix and MS was like a life saver, probably literally, hence me being really upset it now only deals with contraception which is where the cash is....

ive noticed that with family planning too. don't think they do them anymore
