DH shouting at loud delivery driver at 3am

NDN is a stoner and full time gamer, I’m guessing he got a case of the munchies at 3am which is no problem but the man who delivered his food parked on our lawn with music blaring and engine running, the car might as well have been in our bedroom it was so loud!

There is no vehicle access to the front of our house without driving down a bridal path and across a playing field, there is parking behind the houses with an alleyway leading to next door.

The noise woke DP and me up with a jolt and DP shouted some choice words at the driver.

I know he wasn’t BU, the bloody driver was. Surely common sense tells you that it’s 3am and the middle of a heatwave so chances are lots of people will be sleeping with their windows open and maybe the curteous thing to do would be to keep it down when making deliveries?

,Misses point completely> I am impressed that you can get a takeaway delivered at 3am! We can't get deliveries here at 7pm much less after midnight. But no, I would be hacked off too.

I was also woken up at half 1 last night by a van bombing it down my street, turning round and then bombing back the way it came. The music was so loud it made my bedroom shake. My street is a suburban cul-de-sac. I was absolutely livid to be woken from a deep sleep by such a selfish prick. YADNBU

Me too haberpop we live in a pretty remote area too, we have to pay a small fortune to get food delivered from the local town.

Yes daffodill I guessed that’s why he was ordering a takeaway at 3am. I know he’s often up all night playing games and smoking weed.

Hmm. You’re dealing with a druggie and another person who is antisocial (at the very least) I wouldn’t have shouted at them. I would have been pissed about being woken up but I think I would have been more concerned for my safety.

Op you have no proof that he was stoned. You just put that out there to add a bit of weight to your aibu.

Dominos did this last summer at a similar sort of time. Long conversation (some issues with the pizzas I assume) in the middle of the road in a residential area on a warm night, with no attempt to talk in hushed voices or anything.

I complained the next day to Dominos, and the response was somewhat lukewarm (perhaps like the pizzas!) along the lines of "we ask our drivers to be considerate" with no mention of investigating let alone an apology.

Boycotted them ever since and told them why as well. They ignored me.

I’m definitely not concerned about my safety Grin

I’ve lived next door to him for coming up to 5 years now and he openly admits to me that he smokes weed from the moment he wakes up until the moment he goes to bed for medicinal purposes. So I’m pretty sure he would’ve been stoned. If I was wrong about this though, then I will hold my hands up.

I’ve got a parcel for him from the postie so I’m going to ask where he ordered the pizza from so I can complain about the noise of the driver.

Just wondering if the pizza is a cover if it wasn't a dominos just a guy in a car. A dealer with a load of pizza boxes and cheap oven pizzas would actually be a good cover to deliver avocados at 3am. Plus added bonus for after smoking said avocado and getting the munchies.

Last year. Staying in a Travelodge so it serves me right. Bunch of twattish blokes standing outside my window talking to each other in really loud voices. Not pissed. Businessmen. No concept of it being two in the morning and that everyone can hear them. I stuck my head out and told them I was not interested that John in the Cheltenham branch was being expected to do a sideways move to dispatch and would they please learn the basic manners that you use hushed tones around people trying to sleep! They all said sorry really sheepishly. I just can't understand how they think this is OK in the first place? Wankers. Unfortunately they woke up the couple in the room above and they decided to have yet another shag.

As I left I was asked if I had enjoyed my stay and I said yes apart from the shaggers and the gobshites. I am old. Pissed off and increasingly incredulous at the behaviour of people around me jealous of the shaggers
Don't even start me on porters in hospitals that have only one volume in the middle of the night!

Ooo you guys could be onto something!

The same driver has been a couple of times before and been loud and driven pretty dangerously each time.

If he is dealing, he is pretty crap at it!
