To ask if I shouldn't have eaten this fruit...

Posting here for traffic... Just opened a freshly bought pack of chopped mango and watermelon. Use by 6 July. Dished it out between me and the two DC, they ate theirs, then I ate mine and realised it was all slightly fizzy tasting (but are it anyway...). Is that a problem...? Don't want to have made us all ill!

Nah, it'll be fine. I've had fizzy tasting melon before. As long as it wasn't covered in mold I reckon you're safe!

Its they way they preserve it. Chop it up yourself and it'll taste lovely

It might have small amounts of alcohol, mightn't it?

You might get a little drunk...

If you search Youtube for "drunk animals marula fruit" you could see what a drunk monkey/elephant/giraffe/warthog looks like.

Firesuit · 03/07/2018 18:38

(You won't actually get drunk from that small amount of fermented fruit, the animals will have gorged themselves to get that drunk.)

I find most pre-cut/ packaged fruit tastes like that, i hate it. I find if you wash it first it gets better.
