...put nail varnish on? Every time I try it looks a complete mess! How do people manage it? Any tips?

Is there an everyday task you can't tackle?

I am nearly 56 and can probably count on one hand the number of times I have applied nail varnish.

The last time was actually relatively recently when I had a sudden, unaccountable desire for grey nail varnish. I used it once but it was a bit messy. It doesn't help I think that at my age my eyesight isn't what it was!

I have to say I have never been very skillful at any sort of make up. My 22 year old DD is heaps better at it than me. How did she learn? And of course this would be even more exacerbated now by the eyesight thing as I need to have my reading glasses on and a magnifying glass to hand when I am plucking my chin Sad so goodness knows how I would cope with eye make up.

Ha ha! Exactly the same here - even down to the age of our daughters!

I am 50 and get my nails gelled., hair coloured and eye brows waxed. Am crap at it. Ditto eye brows and hair.

Like you 5foot5 I have older teen dds who are immaculate to hair, makeup and nails. Sad why is this? Why am I crap? Angry

I think it’s the internet! There’s a bloody demo for everything on there. Just can’t be arsed! Grin

OP maybe you can get some tips from the woman on this thread

ask make up artist (almost)anything

She seems to be a mine of information although I am buggered if I know why it is in AIBU.

Also she is so far silent on the subject of chin hairs.
