That's it.

Agree

soupmaker · 02/07/2018 21:33

No, they are complete fucking bastard arseholes. The fuckers bite me and I'm covered in itchy, sore, purple blotches which are the size of a side plate. I fucking hate the fucking bastard arseholes.

That feels better.

OverByYer · 02/07/2018 21:34

Having had an infected bite, I’m inclined to agree

qu1rky · 02/07/2018 21:35

Although I have been bitten by them, I don't particularly react to them.
I was bitten last week but has left no mark.
Am I normal?

Ilovewhippets · 02/07/2018 21:37

They are ruining this lovely weather.
If anyone can recommend a really effective horse fly repellent then I'd be most grateful.

Lanaa · 02/07/2018 21:37

I agree. I went for one little walk on Saturday and now I'm cover d in the itchiest, most painful bites known to man. I had to to miss a buffet at lunchtime to drive to a chemist for itch cream. Bastard things.

sheepwitch · 02/07/2018 21:38

I hear you. Evil, bitey, itchy little bastards. Burn them with fire.

Spudlet · 02/07/2018 21:38

Yes. Bastards. I got done again today. There was blood!

Killed the fucker though.

UrsulaPandress · 02/07/2018 21:40

Bastard things.

Tr1skel1on · 02/07/2018 21:40

oh yes oh yes oh yes. I have just been sat in a hot bath (yes you read that right!) soothing a week old infected horse fly bite that turned into lots of small infected blisters, together the size of a 50p coin. It hurts enough a hot bath was welcome :(

Prestonsflowers · 02/07/2018 21:42

Yes, YANBU.
Horseflies are evil bastards.

DramaAlpaca · 02/07/2018 21:43

I'm so itchy from a horsefly bite that I couldn't wait until tomorrow to see my GP. Nothing I've bought over tbe counter is working.

So I've just come back from a walk in medical centre having spent almost €100 (in Ireland) on the consultation with the doctor plus the meds she prescribed. I've got antibiotic steroid cream, antihistamines and oral antibiotics too Shock A bit overkill I thought but she reckoned that's what I needed.

So you can guess what I think of the nasty little feckers Angry

TheCosmicOwl · 02/07/2018 21:49

Oooo I wonder if that's the bastard that's been biting me on my ankles for last 2 weeks? They only leave a small red lump but they're insanely itchy.

Aquamarine1029 · 02/07/2018 21:51

They are horrible, evil, nasty cunts. The lot of them. I had one viciously attacking me today and I desperately wanted a flame thrower to kill it.

Ithinkthatsenough · 02/07/2018 21:52

Absolute cunts

Appuskidu · 02/07/2018 21:52

Ankle bites sounds more like fleas, tbh. Small circular bites but horribly itchy.

I was bitten on a the leg by a horse fly once-my whole leg swelled up, it was agony! I had to be antibiotics-the swelling spread from my ankle all the way up to mid thigh.

userlotsanumbers · 02/07/2018 21:53

YANBU

Bunch of evil twats

bobstersmum · 02/07/2018 21:54

They are horrible buggers. I once had a horse that got bitten by one on her neck while I was riding her and she literally dropped onto her knees! It must've really hurt or just irritated her, she was a drama queen though! I don't tend to get bitten my them myself, but the mozzies love me!

QueenUnicorn · 02/07/2018 21:58

Although I have been bitten by them, I don't particularly react to them.

I'm the same and was wondering this. I caught one in the act, felt it's bite but nothing there after...

agedknees · 02/07/2018 21:58

sudocrem is really good for horsefly and mozzie bites (only for humans).

hazeyjane · 02/07/2018 22:07

I'm glad I'm not alone in my loathing

I have given up on antihistamine and am trialling toothpaste...fucking toothpaste. On the advice on my mother...I never listen to my mother's advice, but here I am with dental products smeared on my legs.

I have 2 bites, huge red and itchier than Satan's arse.
If anyone can recommend a really effective horse fly repellent then I'd be most grateful.

Please. Anyone...I would happily spray myself head to toe in this shit if I thought it would keep the bastards away.

DH’s family in North Africa have cattle and sheep. It was hot so I was wearing flip flops. One of the bastard things drilled into my instep. It fucking hurt a lot.

saucepotty · 02/07/2018 22:19

I got bitten twice by the same one, caught it on my arm and squashed it. But I still have the itchy marks two weeks later!

SabineUndine · 02/07/2018 22:21

They are bastards. Any time I go anywhere with horseflies I cover up from my neck to my ankles. They bite through my bloody clothes.

confusednorthner · 02/07/2018 22:26

I've found my people 😀 I'm using Avon skin so soft and vic, seems to be working as definitely not as badly bitten as I was a fortnight ago. Dd hates them too and loves nothing more than killing any that come near the horses. I'm debating building a trap I've seen....
