Not an AIBU or a TAAT BUT does anybody have any insight into why people lose it about weddings? Does it have a visceral basis or some psychological basis? I wept uncontrollably about brother's choices.

I think it's the whole idea about it being one day which is really important and not about a wedding

I don't know why other people get so over invested in it though. Should really just be about the bride and groom

As well as this being a 'major milestone' which is a popular topic of conversation amongst many, a whole industry has sprung up, sell ever more elaborate solution to non-existent problems. Sigh.
