Voice Recognition - Aaarrgghh!

Anyone else take ages to get through automated telephone services because the voice recognition does not work for you! This seriously annoys me.

Does my head in too. I have quite a strong south Yorkshire accent and for some reason the computer can't hear what I'm saying.
The other thing that's annoying is when it hears someone in the background talking and takes that as the answer. I was trying to get through to tax credits the other day and had to answer a yes question but, at the same time, my children were arguing behind me. The eldest shouted NO!! to the youngest and the stupid voice bot thing put me through to the wrong department Angry

That is annoying!
The computer always says my details don't match up and makes me give them again.

I didn't know that Freudian, it never tells you. I'll try it next time though because it's impossible finding the time to ring people when I'm not busy and my children aren't there!

The HMRC one totally does my head in, I mean raging want to smash stuff up does my head in. And if it doesn't like your voice it just cuts you off, no other options to just talk to a real, actual person.

I have a strong regional accent and the computer can't understand what I'm saying. Sometimes repeatedly hitting the hash key will take you to a human so that's always worth a try.

I did once try talking in a Hyacinth Bucket telephone voice and that didn't work either.
