because thats exactly what i want to do. it make s me furious that i sit there waiting for them, sometimes for more than one car, whilst they merrily sail on past me without so much as a nod to say thanks. do they think i am sat there for the ruddy fun of it?!! it makes me want to get a tank and roller over them the ingrateful b@stards.

God no - not unreasonable at all. DH says that women never say thanks - funnily enough I find it's the men and old folks who are especially bad.

its like walking through a door and letting it slam in the face of the person holding it for you.

i am always shouting at them and holding my hands up. i must look like a right harassed and stupid old bag.

yep, as usual, men (own the road anyway why should they say thanks?!) and old people (too busy concentrating on not dying at the wheel whilst attempting to see over it).

Then please whatever you do DO NOT under any circimstances come to Cyprus!!! OMG saying thank you is not part of the driving culture here, we have had to learn very quickly to either get over it or become very angry people!

Quite right indiasmum not being unreasonable at all. Feckin irritating and as my mother would say 'it's just plain bad manners'

Furrymummy · 25/05/2007 16:05

Yep, it is down right rude... times like that make me wish I had a rocket launcher strapped to the roof my car.

DANCESwithnewlytannedlegs · 25/05/2007 16:07

rofl or those headlights which pop up to reveal machine guns...not an overeaction at all...

littleolwinedrinkerme · 25/05/2007 16:09

Agree with you all - decided a long time ago to just 'let it happen' as daily I would turn into a mad ranting women shouting to all the ignorant arses. I still have the odd day when I do the sarcastic 'thankyou (up yours)' wave when you just know they are not going to acknowledge you. Have had to curb gestures with litte ones in the car who as we know miss nothing when it suits them .

indiasmum · 25/05/2007 16:11

LOL! my dcs now say in a very sarky tone 'thank you' whenever a car passes us. it was esp apt when ds2 was going through his 'thank you thank you wank you'

LOL at your DS2 Indiasmum, out of the mouths of babes hey!

There even worse over here in the US, it's like everyone becomes complete nutters as soon as they slide behind the wheel! And the tail gating drives me crazy, every time I get a nice space between me and the chap infront and in swoops another car.
They attack you from both sides over here too, got to have eye's in the back of your head!
AND AND AND their always on their bloody phones!!!!!!

Oh I feel better now
and breathe
