Greenfingered mumsnetters please help me out - any ideas what this plant might be? It’s got very big leaves and is quite furry, almost prickly/itchy when you touch it. Is it something we should pull up or keep?!

Looks like borage to me. Pretty bue/pink flowers but seeds itself like mad and grows wherever it likes, if it likes your garden. You can put the flowers in Pimms.

Yes borage...i have the white flowered variety and let it self seed, if i need to plant something in the space i just pull it up and leave it on the surface of the soil to rot down as it will add nutrients as it rots.m

Borage, if you tear a leaf does it smell of cucumber? Are the flowers like blue stars? Lovely plant.

Bees love it. I let it flower then dig it up because I don’t think it’s very attractive but it alwaysreappears.
