To want to know how to sell some pricey concert tickets DH bought?

My DH is sweet and so clueless. Despite facing economic hurdles of the type we have never faced, which are stressing me/us maximum and mean we need to save every pence, he bought tickets to a Paul Simon and friends concert in Hyde Park VIP section for over 200 quid each! He knows in the not so distant past I have really loved a couple of paul simon concerts (in small venues with amazing musicians ). Where can i sell these? Can i sell them legally or is it verbotten? They just arrived in the mail today for July 16th.

Advice appreciated. Not about how great my DH is, or support for wanting to throttle him, just how can I sell these tickets at face value (or can I not?)

Register for a site called twickets. You sell them at face value and they charge the buyer a small fee on top.

TheWoollybacksWife · 30/06/2018 15:38

Try Twickets. It's a legitimate face value resale site.

BreconBeBuggered · 30/06/2018 15:43

YY to Twickets. They'll have an alert system set up for buyers looking for tickets, so if there's a demand they should sell quite quickly.

Whatwaswrongwiththatusername · 30/06/2018 15:43

Also recommend Twickets.

dahliaaa · 30/06/2018 15:48

Yes can also recommend twickets - had very smooth transaction with them

LurpakIsTheOnlyButter · 30/06/2018 15:50

I've just sold foo fighters tickets on twickets. No problems.

Lunafreya · 30/06/2018 15:54

Some ticket sellers have resale facilities of their own. I purchased through SeeTickets, but as I couldn't go to the concert I had booked, I was able to put the tickets up for resale. They sold within a couple of days, at the price I paid for them.

Don't think I could bear to pass up the chance to see Paul Simon live, even if the cupboard was bare. His concert at RAH a couple of years ago was a highlight of my life.

I'm very envious of you seeing him in a small venue. Where was that?

quizqueen · 30/06/2018 16:16

facebay or gumtree

IHaveBrilloHair · 30/06/2018 16:18

Facebook selling sites local to you.

mollibu · 30/06/2018 16:21

I sold my Ed Sheeran tickets on twickets 2 weeks ago! So easy, but you need to have a PayPal account for the money to go into Smile

Egg · 30/06/2018 16:23

Ooh I saw Simon and Garfunkel at Hyde Park many years ago. I hadn’t even been much of a fan but they were totally amazing!

NC4Now · 30/06/2018 16:26

Another vote for Twickets

Stickerrocks · 30/06/2018 16:30

I bought Ed Sheeran tickets on Twickets and I was so pleased I did. The tickets arrived quickly and I knew that I wasn't being ripped off. I think it will be increasingly hard to sell through Viagogo as many artists are failing to sell out the big venues and people aren't willing to risk the dodgy reputation of the premium resale sites, especially as so many venues are insisting on photo ID etc.

Mimsy123 · 30/06/2018 16:49

Stickerrocks You’re right that artists are now struggling to sell out the big venues. There are still tickets available for an upcoming AC/DC gig. They have some front row, a few aisle seats, and a whole lotta row C.

QuitMoaning · 30/06/2018 18:59

@Mimsy123. Awesome!
Subtle but awesome.
Think you need to be a fan to get it.

Mimsy123 · 30/06/2018 19:18

QuitMoaning Thank you for getting it Wink

Stickerrocks · 30/06/2018 22:29

Mimsy I'm thunderstruck at how dreadful that is.

kalapattar · 30/06/2018 22:35

I sold some of mine through Twickets recently. Seems to have worked well - although they are persistant with their emails Grin

Mimsy123 · 01/07/2018 16:36

Oh well maybe we should go, just spend the mortgage money....also james taylor and bonnie rait.

Isn't this a big open space?

I saw Paul and art in central park for a reunion when I was 17. He was a real jerk but their songs are great.

Then I saw him when he got an award in a small venue in Washington DC. It was the National something or other. An official place near the watergate building. He was amazing and the band, from South Africa, and around the planet, fantastic.

Just six or seven years ago I saw him in Seattle at the Showbox. I was at a table very near the stage. One price for tickets. Even from the lounge area it's not far. His band, his son, and even he was great. Voice not that great, but a new album was about to come out and the songs were interesting.

We saw hin when his last album came out. Some gorgeous songs on it (Wristband is brilliant) and I loved Surprise - the album a few years earlier. Some of those songs are among my favourite. He wans't a jerk at the Albert Hall, he was very straightforward. He just sang. His voice is old but not gone. America was just stunning. I'm envious. If I had the money, I'd buy your tickets from you. But I don't!

Reaa · 01/07/2018 19:53

I think you should go
