Her husband left her in March (or she left him - not entirely clear on that one). Anyway, she has decided that the way to "get over him" is to take up a new hobby - not something nice and sensible like cooking or knitting - nope she's now out belly dancing twice a week while her mum babysits...anyone else know of anyone doing anything equally weird to get over heartbreak?

Actually knitting's good too for stress relief, at least you have something to show for it afterwards. But always knit at least 3 sizes bigger than you expect for your kids or they outgrow it before it's finished. Also keeps your hands from snacking in the evenings if that's a problem.

judy7, your bellydancing days are just around the corner

I personally found that going to town on his credit card was a fun thing to do, but bellydancing classes are good too. As is a knitting group. In fact anything that gets you out and doing something for yourself

For the poster with the clingy eight month old. Find a babysitter, go out and don't look back. He'll cope and so will you
