How do you open velux windows?

Sounds like a stupid question I know...

We live in a penthouse apartment with bloody high ceilings. Our bedroom has 2 velux windows in. For scale, our wardrobe is 2.5meters high and still has space above it. The ceiling slopes as we are in the roof.

We were told by a neighbour when we bought the place years ago that the velux windows are electronic and require a remote so we never bothered.

We noticed new NDN has his open. He's a tenant and we've never seen them open before.

So, anyone know how to open them without breaking them?

In which case your windows must be electric. Are you sure there is no remote anywhere? It’s a sort of silver colour. Doesn’t look like a tv remote.

Deux We've lived there for 9 years. House was bare when we bought it - even needed to buy poncy expensive lightbulbs. 30 of them. I've not let that go yet....!

Modern shit would really irritate me I get confused at the 3 light switches in my hall some nights it is like im sending out an SOS 😂

MrsJayy It's funny when MIL visits.... you hear click...click....clickclick....CLICK as she's trying to suss out how to put the bathroom light on. She must be one of your peoples :)

Took us months to figure it out I even still get it wrong now!. I drew pictures which I stuck above the socket to say what they did and whether it was a long/short press.

Soz. Thought you’d recently moved in. The windows might be really stiff if they haven’t been opened for 9 years so maybe a Velux engineer is a good bet. They can do a service/maintenance check on them.

My DH is the same with 4 light switches in the kitchen. After 6 years he still hasn’t figured out which one does what. I hear him switching them off/on when I’m upstairs and I get irrationally cross with him.
