What is the best gift you’ve been bought by a student leaving your class at the end of the year?

A heartfelt letter from the student.

MaisyPops · 28/06/2018 07:52

A card / letter of thanks.

And one year a student bulk bought me a box of highlighters as way of paying me back for the squillions of mine they'd used over 2 years. Grin

Card with personal message.

I remember recieving wine and chocolates etc but not who from. I do remember a lad who gave me a bead bracelet with a note in the box. I still have it over a decade later. But I also remember the lad who sought me out on results day to say thank you for pushing him all year. In fact, I have such fond memories of him I gave my ds the same name. Not named after him, but I have positive associations with the name because of him.

Yep agreed...I have kept the cards and notes with the most personal messages. I get untold boxes of chocolates and wine - I avoid alcohol and don’t eat chocolate. Smellies are nice but I can buy my own! I work in secondary school and the personal notes are best.

I do work with a grabby woman who displays hers like a popularity contest though.

A lovely card or picture.

Thank you all! My DD is too young to write letters / cards but I’ll write them and she can draw a picture. Thanks again Smile
