to think you don't peg washing out at night?

I watched my neighbour peg washing out yesterday at 6pm. AIBU to think this is weird? Its gone midnight the next day and it's still out. They have been in and out all day today. I don't know what it is but I feel weird about having washing out overnight, so I don't know why you'd peg it out just before night. And then to have it out for two nights in a row 😱 It is so warm that washing dries within hours!

Yeah, you can do it. Clothes aren't frightened of the dark. Your neighbour might have another load lined up to go out tomorrow.

TellsEveryoneRealFacts · 28/06/2018 00:29

It is fine.

Pebblespony · 28/06/2018 00:30

In this weather I'd put it out at night to catch the drying in the morning. Not usually though.

ferrier · 28/06/2018 00:30

Sometimes that's just the way it goes when you're short of time. Better out at odd times than using the tumble drier.

nocoolnamesleft · 28/06/2018 00:30

Ooh, can I be the first to say "But it will be darked on" and "what about the spider willies?"

TheGreatCornholio · 28/06/2018 00:30

Here come the spider willies...

Tigger365 · 28/06/2018 00:30

It shall be darked on. Spider willies and all that jazz

TheGreatCornholio · 28/06/2018 00:31

@nocoolnamesleft you beat me to it!!

LilMadAgain · 28/06/2018 00:31

Mebbe she likes the feel of her laundry being darked on? I do.

Tigger365 · 28/06/2018 00:32

You both beat me to it!! I think I need a lie down now Wine

halfwitpicker · 28/06/2018 00:33

Total thread killer, nocoolnamesleft

Costacoffeeplease · 28/06/2018 00:34

I do this all the time but I’m not in the uk

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 28/06/2018 00:34

I'll put a wash on when I get home from work and leave it out all night - mine's on a second floor balcony though so no worries about rain. No sign of spider willies, but perhaps they don't like heights?

dentydown · 28/06/2018 00:36

Ohh. I do that. I didn’t know it offended anyone!
It will be dry by midday, and I can get more out. I don’t care about the spider willies.

Topseyt · 28/06/2018 00:36

It isn't weird at all. I regularly put washing out in the evening and leave it overnight.

PepperAndPops · 28/06/2018 00:40

I do this occasionally. Usually if my washing hasn't been done in time for me to hang out before I go out in the day. Or if we have had spillages/bed wetting etc during the afternoon/evening. Sometimes it's just easier as life can be chaotic.

Nothing bad happens to it at night

AgentProvocateur · 28/06/2018 00:50

I’ve just come home and put mine out now. I always put it out at night

MakeItStopNeville · 28/06/2018 00:50

6pm in the summer isn't just before night though, is it? Maybe they meant to take it in already but forgot and then couldn't be bothered. It's the end of June, so longest days of the year?!

MrsRubyMonday · 28/06/2018 00:55

I do this, I frequently put a load on in the evening but I don't want it sitting in the machine overnight getting smelly from damp and so if I know it's going to be hot the next day I'll peg it out ready. Otherwise I'd have to tumble dry which is expensive and a waste of the sun. It's never hurt the clothes or caused any problems.

Dickybow321 · 28/06/2018 00:59

It seems pretty unanimous that I'm weird to to think it's weird 😁! I still will never be able to bring myself to leave washing out overnight. I inspect it thoroughly to check for creatures even when it's been out just a few hours!

CadyHeron · 28/06/2018 01:02

You've just reminded me I haven't brought the washing in and it's all merrily still pegged out there.
Meh, it's getting darked on, so what?! It's still hot out there, they'll be drying - will bring them in tomorrow Grin

avamiah · 28/06/2018 01:04

I think it’s weird also , what’s wrong with bringing it in before you go to bed.

Sally2791 · 28/06/2018 01:06

I put mine out at all hours. Don't worry about how long it stays out either

burdog · 28/06/2018 01:06

I don't but it's the UK and I don't want it to get pigging rained on when I'm asleep (or can't be arsed to get out of bed at 2am when it starts raining).

LuMarie · 28/06/2018 01:10

I'm happy for my laundry to get darker on.

I am wild though.
