Hi :)
Has anyone got married in Vegas? Could you tell me about it please? I want to marry my partner but we don’t want a fuss or to spend too much money.

Yes. I used the little church of the west. You can get Groupon deals for most of the chapels but you'll be in and out in under 5 mins. By the time you add the flights, hotel etc you'll be up to the cost of a small do in the UK.

MiddleClassProblem · 27/06/2018 14:26

Surely going to Vegas costs a lot of money? You can get married in a registry office for £116 (£35pp to give notice £46 to wed) I think?

Winchester13 · 27/06/2018 14:26

Thanks :) I don’t mind a very short ceremony and we wouldn’t want to invite many people. Did you enjoy yours?

We are going to be going to Vegas anyway so thought we could get married whilst there!

We did. It was brilliant Grin .
Easy to book everything online and pick up the licence when you're there.

Friendslover · 27/06/2018 14:35

I got married in vegas 2 years ago..amazing!

I organised everything I could from here. Marriage licenses ordered online, collected from the marriage licence bureau cost $70, prebooked the chapel cost $100.

On our second day we took a taxi to the license bureau to get our bearings, collected our license then walked back to the hotel passing our chapel we had booked so knocked on the door to confirm booking for the following evening..all sorted!

So stress free, the chapel even provided a witness as we went alone. Cost £3,000 for the week for everything.

I LOVED vegas!

Winchester13 · 27/06/2018 14:38

Sounds fab everyone! Thank you! Did you have many guests? It’ll just be me and my partner and two wintnesses

If you’re going anyway, then go for it. Just check if you need to take any documents with you but I’m guessing Vegas you don’t need much other than ID?

SocksAmnesia · 27/06/2018 17:23

Another here OP. Got married in the Wee Kirk Chapel, honeymoon was three days in Vegas and then 10 days around the National Parks. It was about 5K for the two of us all in including honeymoon. It was just us as we eloped and it was class. Vegas is good but for us 3 days was plenty and its not somwhere i have a hankering to get back to. Enjoy your wedding!

Fanciedachange1 · 27/06/2018 17:53

I got married it Vegas! At a place downtown called Love in the Fast Lane (yep drive through wedding of course).

It was so cheap, easy and fun. We did the necessary paperwork online and then collected our licenses from the marriage bureau and booked the wedding straight after for later that night. Ended up getting married at half 10 at night and loved the fact it was dark and night time.

Our witness was Jared, the photographer supplied with the wedding package :D

Namechanger1776 · 27/06/2018 18:59

I did. I'm divorced now though Blush but that didn't have anything to do with the location of the wedding which I loved.

quicknamechango · 27/06/2018 19:04

Yep. Graceland Chapel. Just the two of us so the photographer was a witness.

Sort out the licence paperwork before you go and make sure you have the right ID. We went to pick up the licence on the morning of the wedding.

You can easily book pretty much everything via email. We chose a package that was $200 dollars or so, then I think there was a fee for the celebrant and a tip for the limo driver on top of that. They basically sorted everything out, down to my bouquet. It was all very organised and easy!

We booked a nice restaurant afterwards and then wandered around some casinos. Got bought lots of drinks and met lots of people celebrating their anniversaries. It was really fun.

Whatshallidonowpeople · 27/06/2018 19:06

It was just us 2. No guests. Most chapels have the pics and videos online if you look at the site

whoseboots · 27/06/2018 19:12

I did, 20 years ago! Very easy and fuss free. Arrived in Vegas the night before the wedding, had made no arrangements beforehand, but still got everything in place, including licence and flowers on time. We got married at the Candlelight Wedding Chapel, but I just googled and it looks to be in a museum now Confused

JiltedJohnsJulie · 27/06/2018 19:15

If you want to get married in Vegas I’d do it but it’s not a cheap option, that would be going to the registry office and maybe out for a meal or a small garden party. Staying cheap in Vegas isn’t really an option as far as I can tell.

Fanciedachange1 · 27/06/2018 21:10

Jiltedjohnsjulie, the OP is already going to Vegas so presumably those costs are already accounted for. The cost of getting married there or a cheap service here are probably roughly the same.

Nodancingshoes · 27/06/2018 21:23

My sister and bil got married in The little white wedding chapel. We all stayed at the Mirage. It was a lovely service actually - I was not expecting it to be. They had a reception in the Stratespere revolving restaurant

JiltedJohnsJulie · 27/06/2018 21:35

I missed that bit. It going to apologise for it though as the OP had posted about 3 times before she mentioned that bit Smile

Troels · 27/06/2018 21:46

We were married in a different part of Nevada. Went and collected the license, then got married a couple of hours later in a place called Love Chapel, all nice and sweet, then walked across the street in all our wedding finery and had dinner and drinks in Caesars Palace.
Both Love Chapel and Ceasars Palace are no longer there, It's a shopping center and a different casino now.

Winchester13 · 27/06/2018 23:06

Thank you everyone! Sounds like it’s a really fun place to get married 😃 it’ll be me, my husband to be and my daughter and we are meeting my BILs there. X

We married at the stratosphere. We got the package just for the 2 of us but quite a few friends ended up coming. Wedding was something like 130 dollars and we got 6 photos free. We all also got a free ride to the top of the stratosphere, a private balcony and wristbands for the rides. We watched the sun go down and the strip light up and saw all the helicopters coming back from the canyon. It was amazing. We then did the 20 dollar all you can drink cocktails with our friends before we walked the entire length of the strip back to our hotel still in our finery. DH had a zoot suit on and people were stopping and congratulating us and we got lots of free tequila! Our friends got married a few days later at the bellagio at a cost of thousands, their ceremony wasnt perfect but they did get to choose music for the fountains which was pretty incredible. We got a good deal on the holiday too. We paid 1700 for both of us for a fortnight with virgin.

KC225 · 28/06/2018 02:51

I got married 12 years ago and The Little White Wedding Chapel and then paid foe dinner in The Stratosphere. We booked it from here, along with an Elvis to walk me down aisle, a limo photo tour and a someone to do my hair and make up of me and friend. We didn't go for the cheapest option but it was the most fun.

We were planning on going by ourselves but my friend and a friend of DH's plus his girlfriend guessed and flew out to be there. It was far the better time for them being there.

12 years later, no regrets. It was such fun.

avamiah · 28/06/2018 03:24

I got married in the little White Chapel as well in 2000,
It was a lady minister who married us.
It was great at the time but I wouldn’t do it again .

CLD1305 · 10/12/2018 06:33

Friends lover can I ask what websites you used to book everything please x

EnglishRose13 · 10/12/2018 14:08

I did. It was easy. An outdoor gazebo thing.
