I was woken up the early hours of this morning by my DS (4) coming into the bedroom crying his eyes out.
I held him, stroked his head and when he had stopped crying I asked him what was wrong, he said he couldn't tell me.
I then asked him if he'd had a bad dream and he replied a sinister whisper 'not a dream... Pennywise was in my room ... he's coming'
I have no idea where he has heard the name Pennywise or why he would be frightened, but I can tell you at 04:30 this morning my 14 year old self was terrified! Stephen King you have a lot to answer for!
After gentle questioning this morning my DS believes Pennywise is an invisible fairy that comes to take money out of children's moneyboxes when they are sleeping, but if the children wake up, it scares them away.
I can't begin to tell you how thankful I am that my sons Pennywise is not a clown with a red balloon !!!!!
