To think that Facebook is stalking me

Made new pal through kids school. Got her number and saved it in phone. Next think she crops up on my Facebook 'people you may know'

Now is this because

  1. Facebook is a super spy who analyses all numbers you put in your phone and matches them with people on fb

  2. fb has scanned her face using facial recognition on the selfie feature software when I showed her a pic of her dc I took at sports day and matched the profile

  3. fb listened in to our conversation when she told me her name

  4. she had a nosey at my fb

(Light hearted and just musing. I'm not really crazy and her kid is not in danger should exchange of number result in play date over holidays)

There's an option for it to sync with your phone contacts, I'm guessing you ticked that box when you signed up so it's just making the connection?
Or you have friends in common?

If you have the FB mobile app it has access to your contacts and will make the suggestion.

It could also be because she looked at your page or you now have a mutual friend, or you both mentioned your children's school at some point.

Their spiders are strong.

If you have downloaded the fb app onto your phone, then you agreed to fb using your contacts listed on your phone.

I think it does....

The other day it was sat in a tent discussing a certain cold drink.. something I have never searched for or mentioned on my phone in anyway.

Next day and advert for the exact drink including flavour which we discussed popped up as a "suggestion" on my Facebook.... was Facebook listening through my phone ??

All of the above
