Waxing during pregnancy??

Nearly 6 weeks pregnant with our first baby conceived after 5 long years, apologies in advance to be stewing over something so first-world!

I have a Brazilian was every month without fail - should I continue? Can it harm the baby? My waxer has said in the past that she waxes during pregnancy but what is there any proven harm which can be caused?

If so, what about just a standard wax (sides only, not the lot).

Ultimately I need to cancel before Thursday!

I've always continued, I have Hollywood. There's no harm to baby, but think some people find it more painful. I don't see a difference in pain really.

I am a beauty therapist. There is no harm to the baby. Th only thing Os pregnancy causes engagement to the blood vessels in that area so may gel a bit more sensitive. If you are used to having regular waxed then it shouldn’t be a problem. Definitely have hot wax & not strip in that area. You may find as your bump grows bigger that you just want the sides done. You might find it difficult to lay flat on your beck or legs lifted up to get to the areas to stretch the skin. Ensure they use hot wax with a pre wax oil.

Sorry engorgement to the blood vessels

My skin gets more sensitive when pregnant and it is more tender when waxing, but apart from that it’s fine.

Thanks everyone. Yes she uses hot wax and is a really excellent therapist so I’m sure it’ll be fine. Thanks again.

By midway through the second trimester you'll be thankful you don't have to use a mirror, good lighting, and awkward positions to take care of that hair yourself (and still not get it right).

The first time I got a wax when I was pregnant I got thrush, but she really wasn't very careful, so that may have been a one off. Since then I've moved to extended bikinis.
