Losing/maintaining weight loss on holidays

So - I’m currently on four weeks holidays with friends. We are hiring cars and driving around different countries. It’s very much a “do as we feel like” holiday, with AirBNBs being booked only a day or two ahead. There is lots of delicious food being eaten. We are all from a different part of the world so it was a long trip (over 35 hours!) to get here and we won’t be back for a few years.

My problem is I have a big formal event to go to at the end of the holiday (think like destination wedding). My sister is taking my dress to the event and I will meet her there. The dress I am wearing fits me well, and even has some room, should I gain weight. However if I gain too much, I am in big trouble. I have no backup option and there will be no chance to buy another dress before the event.

AIBU to ask for any tips to help make sure I don’t gain too much weight on holidays? This far I am trying to drink a lot of water before meals and get 10,000 steps a day. Apart from that????

Don't snack. On hols when you graze on crisps etc is when you gain the weight.
I'd also try for just 2 meals a day. Brunch and dinner then you can enjoy a good portion.

Enjoy your food - but try to enjoy the vegetarian and salad type food 50% of the time. Pick one meal every other day that you will pick freely. And try and limit your drinking - I'd have every 3rd day off entirely. I'd actually aim for more than 10k steps. Try to fit in an extra half hour walk a day to help level things out.

Weight loss/maintenance/gain is a simple equation:

Calories in Vs calories out. It's really as simple as that for weight management.

If you want to put on muscle or "tone" then you need to delve deeper in the macro nutrient requirements. For your body.

if you are out of the uk you can get veg and salad that taste rather than look. no need to eat crap.

as usual don t guzzle too much and dont swill. why would a holiday be different?

Choose the soup when everyone is tucking into the massive roast dinner with chocolate pudding may be? It won't be easy. reject all potatoes and chips and bread say and don't drink (but it's easy for me to say that as I don't like alcohol).
