To celebrate my independence/divorce

I've been through a lot with MIL and ex. He controlled everything, I had no job, no car/licence, no money. I was a SAHM for 6 years.

I got rid of ex, got myself a job, took driving lessons, bought a new car. Life is good and I'm so happy.

Would love to hear from people who "celebrated" their divorce. I know for some it's a bit tacky, but for me it means a lot, I found myself again and I'm finally IN CHARGE.

It's a wonderful feeling, isn't it! Doing what suits you, when it suits you, is one of the great freedoms in life. I also had a somewhat controlling H, and felt I'd become subsumed into his persona, and it feels so good just to be me again.

I even bought myself an "independence" ring to replace the wedding ring which had started to feel like a shackle.

Enjoy your life, OP; it is, after all, what you make it. Flowers
