Anyone here have a business? What do you do, how did you start and is it successful?

Thinking of starting a cleaning business to get some money coming in.

speak to your local chamber of commerce and see what help and advice they can give you. start with a business plan - always start a new business with a business plan. if its only you doing the cleaning then you are going to be limited to how many hours you can do. so give some thought to contract cleaning - having other cleaners work with you in a team. don't underestimate how picky people are when you are cleaning their home. in your business plan be realistic about travelling times and travelling costs, insurance, PLI, cost of cleaning materials etc. What is going to make your business stand out? will you only use eco products?

Cleaning is bloody hard work and you will not make much money at it if its just a one person band.

perhaps look at some other transferable skills that you have to see if you could start a more profitable business.
