I have found the bottom of the laundry basket and I have also harvested a total of £3.27 in cash (plus sundry hair elastics, sweet wrappers and used tissues). AIBU unreasonable to pocket the cash?

Them's the rules. Only advantage to doing the washing. Once found 20quid.

JellySlice · 23/06/2018 22:05

It was actually £13.27, but the tenner was still in my jeans pocket, not loose.

You're RICH!! Woot! You have to pour yourself a cheeky glass of wine now to plot spending your windfall. Put the hairbands in. Enjoy. GrinWine

Pretty good book. I think anyway

bluerunningshoes · 23/06/2018 22:35

I have a moneybank next to the washer.
any coin found in the washer/laundry is mine.

bluerunningshoes · 23/06/2018 22:37

...but what is this 'botton of laundry basket' you speak of?
I thaought that's at the bottom od a rainbow, next to the pot of gold

CointreauVersial · 23/06/2018 22:39

Lucky you.

Last time I did the laundry all I found were a couple of crusty tissues.

Gib1234 · 23/06/2018 22:41

I get £5s, £10s and even £20s out of DH's trousers and I keep the lot. I've even washed a few. Our new banknotes come up lovely

ShatnersBassoon · 23/06/2018 22:46

I always trouser anything valuable that I find in the laundry. Money, sweets, earphones, whatever. They've all had warnings...

Lulusmother · 23/06/2018 23:10

I had a lovely bag once, a huge thing so everything got lost at the bottom of it, you know the sort. Anyhow, one day I shook it and could hear money 👏 emptied it out, could still gear this money. I got some scissors and cut a hole in the lining and found in loose change £28 !!!
Was mine anyway but that was a great finders keepers !!!

I once spent six hours mucking out cleaning DD2's room while she was on a trip with uni. I found over £17 - enough for a bottle of wine and a takeaway

StrawberryFieldsWhenever · 23/06/2018 23:20

Cleaner's tip. Any change left in pockets, or that I find on the kids floors (after asking umpteen times for them to tidy their rooms then getting fed up and doing it myself) belongs to me. Them's the breaks.
