Hey guys!

I need your advice.

I tried pole fitness for the first time a few months ago. I had one class which I absolutely loved, but then I went to a second class and was really unnerved. Basically the teacher was really pushing us to go much faster than I think is a good idea.

My sister took up pole fitness and she said she had multiple classes before even going past the spinning stage, whereas at this place straight from the second class the teacher was trying to get us to do upside down shit and basically loads of pretty technical stuff. There were a few women in the newbie class whi had actually gone straight out and gotten themselves a pole so in between the first and second classes they had obviously had time to spend an hour a night or whatever on practising/feeling comfortable with the pole, so clearly they were up for progressing.

But for people like me it was a bit intense and intimidating to have 2 weeks of nothinf to suddenly "ok lets try going upside down now". I mean WTF???!

The club seems really geared towards its advanced members and catering to them with beginners just an afterthought.

I dont really know what to do now because i enjoyed myself and want to do more but I'm too intimidated to go back.

Classes are ££ a session and a pole is £££. It also feels a bit shit, because classes are expensive, to cough up for not really learning anything - I tried and failed to do the technical stuff but im just not strong enough yet. So it feels like a bit of a waste of money as well as feeling a bit humiliating if you get me?
So my options are:

  • Just go back and suck it up
  • Carry on working out (weights) and go back when theres a chance ill actually be strong enough to do the stuff
  • Take out one of their packages that gives you access to a pole in your own time once or twice a week as well as a class
  • Get my own pole before going back (this would actually be doable in a month or two).

Thoughts? I want to do this but I feel scared!
