To worry about emotional 3yo DS

DS is 3y 4m and is SO clingy. He has always been like this but is particularly bad since DS2 was born 3 months ago. I did the nursery drop off this morning and he has just moved up to the preschool room, so a big change, but he basically had to be prised off me. This is a particularly bad example but I don't feel like he has settled in nursery despite going for 9 months now.

He has to be the centre of attention at all times - when my mum comes over he won't let us have a chat. He wakes a lot in the night asking for a cuddle, his comforter, to be tucked in etc etc - he sleeps worse than the new baby at the moment. I left him with DH for 40 minutes last night and he screamed the place down, but it's the same when DH leaves for work in the mornings.

AIBU to be a bit jealous of parents who say their kids "love nursery" and run in excited to start the day. I am worried about when he starts school if he can't cope with less than 1:1 attention. Is this normal?!
