AIBU to go to Legoland this Friday?

My boys go to school in Merton and we have a random inset day. Please please please tell me your schools don't and it'll be empty GrinGrinGrin

I have no knowledge of schools but it's royal ascot this week so avoid Ascot and the route in via there from the M3 like the plague!

Cantaana · 19/06/2018 20:08

I'm going on Friday. But my DS isn't in school yet.

Shall we arrange a kind of mumsnet code. I'll wear a feather in my hair. You can say 'the weather in Amsterdam is glorious today' and I will say 'perfect for growing pansies'. We will nod, and slip off into the Lego carnage

No inset in our Kingston borough school!

Tink2007 · 19/06/2018 20:56

No inset in ours in London.

We have a random inset day as well here in Croydon. We're going to Legoland as thought it'd be quieter but now I think half our school are going.

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 19/06/2018 20:57

No inset in Windsor.

greensnail · 19/06/2018 20:58

We're in Berkshire and i don't know of any local schools with inset days on Friday.

Just arrive early and leave before final race at ascot (I went yesterday and left the rides at 4:30 to walk up the hill - left car park at 5 and there was no problem.) After final Ascot race traffic is a nightmare. I'm local and just know of one local inset day at a small school.

We went during half term and the queues were around 20 mins. I will be honest though, I wouldn't pay to go back.
