To call 111 for my DS?

In Kitchen with DS tidying, turned my back and when I looked back at him he had the container for the e liquid in his mouth.

It wasn't open, just had some around the outside of the container, I took it straight out of his mouth and binned it (didn't even know I had it).

I think he's been sick a little bit. He seems fine but I'm worried now.

They're under 2 and have ingested a poison. 111 if they're sensible will tell you to goto A&E, if they're being a bit over zealous they'll send you an ambulance. The crew of said ambulance will not have any treatment or the ability to do blood tests regards toxin and as they're under 2 will
take you to A&E. Arriving by ambulance will not mean you get seen quicker at A&E, and if your baby is acting otherwise normally you could be waiting about an hour for the ambulance to arrive, if not longer.

Save yourself a lot of time and goto A&E now.

FFS OP. Take your child to A&E or call an ambulance!

Children have died from ingesting this liquid!

Slartybartfast · 19/06/2018 17:55

it wasnt open, the amount ingested will be minimal surely?
swill out his mouth with water.

Slartybartfast · 19/06/2018 17:55

my ddog got hold of my liquid, only happened once, she knows to avoid it now

PrettyWisdomous · 19/06/2018 18:00

Slartybartfast your post is unhelpful and potentially dangerous.

OP, I really hope your silence means that you're on your way to A&E.

PrettyWisdomous · 19/06/2018 18:00

Posts are, even.

Hopefully the OP is sorting things out now.

OP, I do hope your DS is ok (I’m sure he will be). These things happen, so don’t beat yourself up about it.

So after the first comment, I got straight on the phone to 111.

They advised I call the gp before they closed. I was advised to take him straight there.

As soon as I got in the car my gp called me and said he'd be fine.

He's been playing for the last half hour outside. He seems absolutely fine.

Thanks good to hear op
nottinghillgrey · 19/06/2018 18:09

Your GP effectively refused to see a baby who had ingested dangerous liquid Confused

Slartybartfast · 19/06/2018 18:11

assume the gp knows better than nottinghillgrey

nottinghillgrey · 19/06/2018 18:29

I'm not saying I know better than the GP Confused I'm saying I would not be happy with a phone call and would expect a baby to be seen by said GP.

GetInMyNelly · 19/06/2018 18:39

He asked how he was and if he had continued being sick or had any new symptoms. Said as long as he was his usual self, he was happy that he was fine.

Said if anything changes, to take him straight to A&E

The GP probably ran the product details through toxbase. Which would probably i assume gavr reassuring information and they would advise her no action needed.
