How old for kids to share

Another thread got me wondering about this...

How old would you say is appropriate for children of opposite sexes to share a bedroom for?

Our DS and DD will share and thinking DS will be about 7 and DD about 3 when we move them into separate rooms but what if they actually enjoy sharing a bedroom and find it comforting... how old before it is inappropriate?

It probably depends on the individuals. I remember the whole class getting changed for pe in the classroom until about 10 so I guess that’s the age they thought we ought to have privacy from the boys.

I’ve been thinking about this a lot as we have a 2 bed flat and can’t afford a bigger place in London, so we will need to relocate at some point, and the best time to do so is a constant subject of discussion.

Depends on the children. I was 12 when I got my own room, my brother was 5. I needed my own space by this point but wasn't that bothered by it as he was only 5.
