Over the fact that l have spent the last 3 days painting fence panels with Ronseal only to now read that they wash off in the rain Hmm

Pretty sure I've seen reviews like that for most brands of fence paint. Usually written by people who didn't follow the instructions properly. Hmm

Throw your strop if it does actually wash off in the rain.

LanguidLobster · 17/06/2018 22:58

Oh I'm sorry OP you made me laugh.

All that effort then it gets rained off...!

Singlenotsingle · 17/06/2018 22:59

Thanks for the heads up. I had intended going out and buying some tomorrow!

TryingToForgeAnewLife · 17/06/2018 23:00

It had better not rain ever againAngry

Was so pleased of how nice it looked too.

What does it say on the tin?

Daddystepdaddy · 17/06/2018 23:02

Don't use ronseal, utter garbage. Cuprinol or Johnstone are better commonly available ones.

LooksBetterWithAFilter · 17/06/2018 23:06

Cuprinol on ds2’s playhouse painted 4 years ago still as vibrant and new as the day I did it.
Ronseal in the fence and decking done last year has almost completely washed away. Followed the instructions to the letter on both brands one has proved its worth the other has proved its crap.

TryingToForgeAnewLife · 18/06/2018 06:33

I emailed the man who erected the fences and asked what he recommends. He said culprinol.

Sigh....
