link within a link!

How can this go through without somebody looking at the impact on all the children of all the different religions and both sexes?

Like, this was put before the council three weeks ago and they already adopted it?

Wtf? This affects thousands and thousand of kids from four to 18 and they just whammed it in in three weeks?

Where's the Equality Impact Assessment? Don't they know sex is a protected characteristic and kids can't be forced to share toilets?

I see from the article that they have been challenged about their Equality Impact Assessment for this. It will be interesting to see what happens at the next meeting, given the opposition.

Can you give a summary of the link

how are they going to manage in a school with a lot of muslim children? I have been in schools that ran girls swimming classes and boys swimming classes rather than taking the whole class together, so that the girls could participate.

Sadly, all this nonsense affects so many people who don't know it yet. Women from conservative backgrounds will be the worst hit.

I spoke to a fellow PHD student at my uni about this. She is Muslim, and she said that if self-I'd comes into place, she will have to use the disabled toilets when out and about. She can't take the risk of seeing a man in the women's toilets. It would ruin her life. Sad
