Early pregnancy scan

Had to have an emergency scan today as we have no dates to work out how far along I am.

Scan said I was 5 weeks and 3 days roughly but my blood test is saying I'm a lot further so midwife said i just have a very high hormone level and it probably explains my sickness.

Thing is I've had 5 miscarriages and I have 1 dd. Aibu to think the high hormone level can only be a good sign? The heartbeat was seen also!

Sorry I know it's not a juicy aibu I mainly posted for traffic so i appricate any answers and advice!

All positive signs I think. Grin

They always say lots of morning sickness (caused by high hormone levels) is a sign of a healthy pregnancy.

I am on medication for my sickness now, 8 1/2 weeks for me. Bad sickness usually means a good strong pregnancy, congratulations!

I would bet you're further. Dating at that gestation is sooo hard. Heartbeat not typically seen until 6 weeks....

Thanks everyone I've always heard that but did wonder if it was just something people say to ladies who really suffer badly with morning sickness to make them feel better 😁

Huha I thought the same and I'm thinking maybe by the 12 week scan everything would of caught up.

I think best thing I can do is try not to stress over it and just relax really easier said than done!

Congratulations!! I would imagine you're further along to be honest. As PP said you can only usually see the heartbeat at 6+ weeks. I had an early scan at 6 weeks and the heartbeat was only just visible.

Hope everything catches up by the 12 week scan I just hate the waiting game!!
