WIBU to post negative feedback?

I bought a pricey (to me) item on Amazon Marketplace from a seller that I have bought from a few times before with no issues and have sent an item back before to them. It’s a legit seller and they have a physical shop. The item did not fit so I had to return. They received the item back as I sent it tracked but they did not acknowledge receipt so after 7 days I contacted them just to ask very politely if they were processing my refund.

I got a very abrupt reponse essentially saying it will be up to 12 days before the refund is processed. I had a look on their website and on the amazon seller profile and there was no mention of this refund policy. Amazon says usually it’s 7 days but they have up to 30 days to issue a refund. I was surprised by that but fair enough.

I wasn’t rude or demanding on my messages at all, I was very polite. I was simply concerned as I’d had no email regarding receipt of the item.

I emailed back saying I didn’t know this as it wasn’t clear at all on amazon but hopefully the refund will come through soon. They sent a really snotty message back moaning that i’ve sent refunds back twice now (months apart so hardly like I’m doing it all the time) and that my refund had been sorted.

I was so taken aback by their tone in their messages that I left negative feedback regarding their customer service. I immediately got a threatening message saying if I don’t retract my feedback they would report me to Amazon. I didn’t reply as I was in work by then and I got a notification on the feedback saying that I was the rude one (I really wasn’t, I would hold my hands up and admit if I was rude) and that they have reported me to Amazon and “hopefully my account would be suspended”.

!!!

I spoke to Amazon and they said they would look into it.

I know it’s first world problems and not a big deal. I’m not bothered but I wanted to ask WIBU to post negative feedback? I’m not a regular moaner and I make a point of giving positive feedback when I can as I think that’s important to recognise good service but I was so taken aback at how rude the seller was to me. I work in a person facing role and if I get a complaint whether it is valid or not I can’t demand that person take it back!!!!

Happy to admit if IWBU Grin

no they are cheeky and trying to cover their back by saying you were rude

It sounds like you were justified although we don't know exactly what you wrote. Id be tempted to get your mates to write bad reviews in their items to be honest and escalate it a bit

I just basicallly said ‘Hi I was wondering if my refund is being processed as I can see from tracking it was received 7 days ago and I hadn’t heard anything. Thanks!’ Hardly rude!
