Facebook Grans

Does anyone else have parents that act like fantastic grandparents on Facebook and to their friends but in reality they do little or nothing?

I know my parents are under no obligation to help me but the whole acting like the doting grandparent on Facebook is starting to grate on me now. 😥

I have this from MIL. DS2 recently broke a bone. From MIL's Facebook account you'd think she'd singlehandedly nursed him day and night herself, the reality is that she's not seen him for 5 months because she's "busy" (which in actuality means pricking about on Facebook).

I know. She knows. I know she knows. She knows I know she knows. Neither of us addresses it but I've got her number.

I think my mum is completely oblivious to it.
She's not actually looked after her grandchild since she was born. She offers, gets a better offer to do something else & cancels on me.
Meanwhile she shares quotes on Facebook about how her grandchildren mean everything to her her and how being a grandma is fantastic...
How would she know? 😣

Yes my MIL does this too. We live ten minutes apart but see them approx once per month when we drive to theirs. MIL likes to randomly post months old pics of 'her gorgeous GS' on Facebook so her pals believe we see each other most days. I had to comment 'Wow that's an old pic' on one that she posted in May as DS was clearly wearing a Christmas jumper!
