Any advice about areas around Preston?

Posting here for traffic.
I am looking at property in Farington Moss (Leyland), Cottam (Preston), Cabus (near Garstang), and Wesham
Any info on these areas?

Cottam has some nice areas, easy access to town and motorway. I drive through it a lot! Some countryside type bits as well, fairly close to hospital
Cabus is a bit further out, not as easy for access, as you're sort of in between Lancaster and preston
Depends how close you need to be to town/motorway/hospitals etc and whether you're looking for countryside etc

Not sure on the others

We work remotely so we don't need to be anywhere on a daily basis, but we also have children so I wouldn't want to move to a high crime area...

Might be worth sticking a postcode or two in here for each one?

TBH if you said to me "rough or high crime area" Cottam wouldn't be one to spring to mind at all. I think of it as a more quiet/country area, I do some care work around there so spend a lot of time driving though and there's some gorgeous houses
Woodplumpton I like as well, slightly further out but easy to get to

I've chucked a few postcodes in the crime map. For an idea, where I live is classed as "slightly iffy" and has 90 reported crimes in April
Woodplumpton and Cottam postcodes both gave me around 40 crimes
Cabus 9 crimes
Farrington Moss 63
