To ask how you file your nails?

Probably the most boring thread ever created on mumsnet but I'm at a loss. I use nail clippers followed by a nail file. My nails look groomed and smooth but for some reason they're ridiculously sharp? I don't know how to make them smooth. Every time I itch/rub my face I'm left with small cuts as my nails keep cutting the skin. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

How rough/smooth is your emery board? If it's rough, get one of the slightly more expensive, smoother ones. If you're already using a smooth one, then sorry, no idea!!

File in one direction, don't saw. Don't use a metal nail file.

I use the two sided emery boards, I don’t use clippers I use the tough side to get them to size then smooth side. I use the saw action and they are always smooth.

I use a Leighton Denny crystal nail file. It's not cheap at £15 but gives super smooth nail edges

I use my teeth

Thank you! I just use cheap nail files. They're pretty rough. It seems like that is where I'm going wrong.
