Out with a friend this eve and a guy I knew approached me and gave me a hug. He’s quite attractive but in a serious relationship... whatever I said hi and I introduced them (he’s a friend, there’s no chemistry!)

My friend randomly remarked later about him “oh I think he liked me (her)” and giggled. I laughed and said oh maybe but he’s been with his gf a while. She then said nah I thought he was gay. Weird?!

She was attracted to him, then when you said he was taken, she felt momentarily embarrassed at reading it wrong. So she said the gay comment as a kind of "I wasn't into him anyway" face saving attempt.

Probably! Just thought it was an odd thing to say, “I think he liked me” - he didn’t say a word to her/was polite but normal, he came up to me
