Lent friend a dress for an occasion this weekend, she uploaded photos on Instagram. Someone commented saying - love the dress, where’s it from?

She replied - thanks! I got it from x.

Yes it’s petty and yes clearly this is the only thing I have to worry about but I think this was so cheeky.

Erm...it is a bit cheeky of her, but.....yabu to let it get to you. Maybe she's too embarrassed to admit she borrowed it instead of bought it.

Surely she was just letting the person know where they could buy one if they really liked it? No harm done.

She is embarrassed that she borrowed it for an occasion. Yes it might have been better to say "It is from X" but if she is close enough for you to lend it to her I would assume you are close enough to let it go.

I agree that it's probably something not worth stressing about, but I don't understand why anyone feels the need to tell OP she has a "sad life" - unnecessary and hurtful.
