I LOVE foundation, but in summer I feel like it falls off my face. My skin touches wood has been really clear the last few months (i only drink water, you knew they were right?!?) so it seems like the perfect time to use a cc cream or bb cream...

However I've never used one and I don't have a clue what to look for.

I'd like something that just evens out, maybe blurs and a bit of colour but not too yellow.

Try Lily Lolo. Only online though so you can’t test easily

Nomorechickens · 13/06/2018 17:53

I use Boots No 7. It's half way between a BB cream and a foundation. And not too expensive. Not yellow or orange. Evens out your complexion. Doesn't show after applying. I use Fair in winter and Medium in summer (I am fair but tan slightly)

Queenoftheblitz · 13/06/2018 17:59

I use the garnier mattify one. Love it.

Orlandobound · 13/06/2018 18:00

Thank you I will check them out!!

Stupid question, how do you apply them? Hmm

The IT cosmetics cc cream is amazing and has v good coverage and you can get it an Boots now...
For a cheaper option I sometime use the Garner BB cream

BeijingBarbie · 13/06/2018 18:03

I apply with fingers or a beauty blender sponge (but usually just fingers as I can’t be bothered Grin

Greenteandchives · 13/06/2018 18:06

Garner B.B. Cream + Blur. I have rebought this one, and I rarely do that!

SingingSands · 13/06/2018 18:12

I use one by the Body Shop, it comes out white then the colour is activated when you blend. It looks great and feels lovely on my skin. In fact I was being a bit of a peacock in the mirror this mirror, admiring how lovely I looked with it! Haha Blush

theblacklist · 13/06/2018 18:17

I use the body shop one too and put it on with a foundation brush. Have never mastered sponges!

MidLifeCrisis2017 · 13/06/2018 18:21

Kiko is brilliant on my not great, middle aged skin.

Pollaidh · 13/06/2018 18:26

I use Boots No 7, I'm really pale, but it just absorbs and doesn't show, except for looking a bit healthier.

Pollaidh · 13/06/2018 18:27

I use a big circular brush from Bare Minerals. Blends really well and naturally. I used to use a brush more like a paint brush, and that was more obvious.

Queenoftheblitz · 13/06/2018 18:29

I use fingers and only use on areas that need it - redness round the nose etc

annandale · 13/06/2018 18:30

Another vote for the Body Shop All in One BB cream. I really really like it. I'm pretty fair skinned but use the 02 one - have a good look at all the colours. It's supposed to adapt to your skin tone. I like their Instablur primer? moisturiser? too but overall prefer the Clinique hydroblur moisturiser.

glasshalfsomething · 13/06/2018 18:36

Another vote for Body Shop!

sparkli · 14/06/2018 08:51

Another big fan of Boots No7. Slightly more coverage than other BB creams I've tried. I use Medium as I tan easily and usually have a good base colour by the time I switch from my usual foundation.

AllyMcBeagle · 14/06/2018 08:57

I LOVE foundation, but in summer I feel like it falls off my face.

Do you mean your foundation doesn't last long in the summer because of sweat/oil etc.? If so, a BB/CC cream might not fix that and you might have the same problem.

Do you use a powder to set your foundation or a setting spray?

UtterlyDesperate · 14/06/2018 08:59

Another vote for IT CC cream - and it's got Spf50

BackInTime · 14/06/2018 09:00

Following with interest.

Currently using M&S Autograph BB cream which is good. I have also tried a sample of Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue which is amazing but expensive and is on my wish list.

Littletinyraindrops · 14/06/2018 09:18

I use No7 CC cream, I used the BB one but I have really rosy cheeks, so the CC toned it down a bit.
It's lovely and light, not greasy and it isn't orange or too pale.

Bluebellsagain · 14/06/2018 15:52

Maybe you just haven’t found the right foundation? The only one that works with my skin is L’Oréal true match (from years of trying with others!) if you find foundation slides off you may have that experience with B.B. cream, they are usually oilier...

goose1964 · 14/06/2018 16:43

Superdrug own brand, it gives skin a lovely glow

RavenLG · 14/06/2018 16:48

NYX BB cream. I can never find it in stores so order from amazon. Pale enough for my skin and stays on well.

ParadiseLaundry · 14/06/2018 16:51

I've been using the pink tube one from Korean brand Skin 79, it's marvellous but probably better if you are on the fair side.

Orlandobound · 14/06/2018 16:59

I do powder and use a setting spray, it doesn't move it just feels like it is... And feels so thick in warm weather too that I feel suffocated under it. I've tried kat von d, bare minerals powder, makeup forever sticks, the rainforest of the sea by tarte, la girl and double wear in the last 18 months, whenever it is warm I just feel caked. But when it is cool I feel fine.

Definitely, in my head, I was talking about it to my psychologist this morning and she said a lot of autistics feel the same under foundation... Recently diagnosed.

Thanks, I will take a look at the body shop and boots, just don't want to walk about looking like a lemon, everything seems so yellow lol.
