Trays

When I’m given my food or drinks on a tray, Aibu to ALWAYS take everything off and stow the tray away while I eat?
I never eat off the tray.
Don’t know why, now sitting in a cafe and I’m the only one.
Thought this was normal......

No, I always do the same in a cafe/McDonalds/fast food place.

I keep it while I eat and carry the rubbish to the bin on it then put it away. Obviously I could just carry the stuff to the bin in my hands but this is just what I've always done 🤷

Always take stuff off the tray. No idea why!

I always take things off - there is a lip around a tray which is annoying when on a table and it is easier to arrange things . Also more convenient when there is more than one of you at the table. Maybe the same wouldn’t apply with certain kinds of fast food which aren’t on plates.
